With reference to your letter No 29 of the 10th
instant, enclosing a letter from Mr Solly relative to the
question of his leave of absence, I am directed to inform
you that His Excellency the Governar has been pleased to
reconsider the decision conveyed to you in my letter of the
11th instant and to allow Mr Solly to proceed on leave as soon
as the new officer, whose services the Postmaster General
hopes to secure in England, arrives to take over the Senior
Clerkship.
The Officer is expected not later than the 15th
of June. The length of the new leave of absence to be granted to Mr Solly will be communicated to you in due course.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient servant,
(Sa) F. H. May.
Ag. Colonial Secretary.
The Acting Postmaster General.
